Saint Nicholas Catholic Church, in Virginia Beach, hosted a Life and Legacy Planning seminar on Tuesday, January 17th for nearly 60 members of it’s Just Seniors group. Just Seniors was founded a decade ago to provide a venue for Christian fellowship that includes social, religious and educational activities. Alex Previtera, Director of Development for the Catholic Community Foundation of the Diocese of Richmond, and Stephen M. Watson, Estate Planning Attorney, with Carrell Blanton Ferris & Associates, PLC, conducted the meeting and Gaby Gonzalez, the Foundation’s Director of Development for Hispanic Communities attended to assist.
The meeting provided information and education about the essentials of estate planning and legacy giving for parishes. Participants learned about the types of legacy gifts that can benefit their parish, the importance of charitable bequests, and how they can leave a legacy gift to their parish. Ultimately, the meeting presented ways individuals and couples make a legacy to the Church. It is the ultimate act of faith and stewardship.
The Catholic Community Foundation of the Diocese of Richmond is offering a life and legacy planning seminars as a service to parishes, schools, and ministries. Our seminars are targeted for individuals, couples, clergy, and lay leadership with an emphasis the importance of charitable bequests and other legacy gifts to parishes, schools and ministries.
