Margaret’s Weekly Email
As my mother told me, all good things are worth the wait. (She was mostly right.)
A couple of years ago, I began thinking about how we at the Catholic Community Foundation could position ourselves to do more to connect the faithful of our diocese with the mission of the church. More and more often, my staff and I were being invited by parishes, schools, and ministries to help them find more resources. I began to ponder what services we should we providing…how we could reach more parishioners…how we could better do our part in evangelizing through connecting the faithful with the mission. The 10th anniversary of the founding of the CCF seemed like a natural time to launch a planning process, which we did in earnest on November 16, 2024.
Today (Saturday) is a significant day for our strategic planning, which we have given a name: Strengthening the Catholic Legacy of Giving. Today we expect about 100 planners to gather at St. Michael’s in Richmond to present to Bishop Knestout their recommendations resulting from six months of thoughtful and time-intensive collaboration. I am truly grateful to all who have participated and humbled by the extraordinary talent and commitment demonstrated by faithful Catholics from across the Diocese.
This is just the beginning, of course…there will be much more to come in the months ahead as we put elements of the plan into place. I am thankful to YOU for being along for the ride. Stay tuned…
God Bless,
Margaret
