As I have written about many times, my job keeps me plugged in to what’s going on in our Catholic
schools – and I love it!
While most students are out for summer, some of our schools were still celebrating graduations
this week – both from 8th grade and from High School. This weekend Cristo Rey Richmond High
School celebrates the commencement of its second graduating class.
I will attend Cristo Rey’s graduation this morning (Saturday,) not only as a board member, but also
as a Corporate Work Study Partner. Soon to be graduates Sarah, Kat, Avion, Kush, and Bethany
worked in my oƯice in years past, and this year my team has had the pleasure of supervising Shay
and Miguel, who will be attending ODU and Mary Baldwin, respectively. I hope these young folks
learned something from me (not sure what exactly,) but I can definitively say I learned from them.
A couple of weeks ago, the Catholic Virginian published an article highlighting the Valedictorians
and Salutatorians from each of the Catholic high schools in the Diocese. If you missed it, you can
read it here: https://catholicvirginian.org/news/congratulations-2024-graduates/
Hopefully you did click on the link to read about these impressive young men and women. They
seem pretty smart, huh?
I pray that they will all have a college experience that enables them to reach their potential,
academically, spiritually, and morally.
God Bless,
Margaret
P.S. Many of you have asked…Catherine made it to Jackson Hole and is now filling water glasses,
clearing dishes, and running food. We will visit later in the summer, and we can’t wait! Here she is
with her friends at the St. Louis Arch. She is on the left.
