Giving Societies. Making a Difference, Together.
As part of our mission, the Catholic Community Foundation facilitates three giving societies for generous donors that focus on bringing people together, fostering faith, and furthering the Church’s mission.
Lumen Christi Legacy Giving Society
The Lumen Christi Legacy Society was established to recognize and thank supporters who have named the Foundation or a Catholic parish, school, or ministry in the Diocese of Richmond in their estate plans, or who have established a planned gift with the Catholic Community Foundation. Members of the Lumen Christi Legacy Society are led by their faith and values to ensure everlasting giving for the future.
Your parish may already have a Lumen Christi Society group with its own recognition opportunities. At the Foundation, we provide annual recognition for all members of Lumen Christi from across the Diocese at our annual mass and luncheon with Bishop Knestout. At/after the event, you will receive:
A Lumen Christi Legacy Society lapel pin
A keepsake photo with Bishop Knestout
To join, you must name a parish, school, ministry, or the Catholic Community Foundation as a beneficiary in your estate plans. If you have already done this or need support setting this up, please use the contact form below.
If you are interested in establishing a chapter of the Lumen Christi Legacy Society at your parish to bring together donors like you, please contact us below. Our team is happy to help!
Women’s Giving Circle (WGC)
WGC is a network of philanthropic women who strengthen the Diocese of Richmond communities through engaged, collective philanthropy. They do this by raising awareness and funds to support organizations that serve those in need, while fostering fellowship and making a difference along the way.
Every year, WGC members review grant applications from non-profit organizations and select recipients to help advance their visions.
Each year, WGC women gather to hear the needs of various organizations throughout the Diocese of Richmond. Together, they select nonprofit organizations serving various populations in need to receive grants.
Members can also visit some of these organizations to see how grant funds were used and meet the people impacted. In addition, each year there are additional gatherings aimed at fostering fellowship within the group.
To join WGC, you will need to first pay your annual dues. You can do so through our secure portal, Give Central. Please note that WGC currently has only a Richmond chapter, but it serves organizations across the Diocese.
If you are interested in setting up a WGC chapter in your town within the Diocese, please contact our team, and we’d be happy to support!
Bishop’s Circle
The Bishop’s Circle recognizes members of the Catholic faithful who contribute $1,000 or more to the Annual Diocesan Appeal. These generous donors’ commitment makes a tremendous impact in meeting the immediate needs of our parishes and our larger Catholic church.
Each circle level comes with unique benefits and is based on a donation range. The levels are:
Saint Joseph ($1,000 to $9,999)
Saint Francis of Assisi ($10,000 to $24,999)
Saint Vincent De Paul ($25,000 to $49,999)
Saint Mary Star of the Sea ($50,000 and higher)
Each level offers unique benefits, ranging from receiving a personal copy of our annual report and prayer reflections from Bishop Knestout to an invitation to a personal lunch or dinner at the Bishop’s residence.
Please visit the Annual Diocesan Appeal page to learn more about the Appeal, and feel free to contact us to learn more about the benefits for each level.
